Hello parents, carers and pupils of Wilthorpe,
All the Year 5 staff would like to say a big thank you and a massive well done to all of you over this time. It has been a strange time and an odd way of working for all of us, so you should be proud of your ability to adapt and still do so much good work.
We hope that the work we have been posting has been helpful and that you have managed to make the most of the time we have had to work this way. Thank you again and make sure you all have a good summer from next week.
The Year 5 Team.
Weekly Planning
Starting from this week we will be adding weekly plans to this page for you to do at home.
We will add links and any necessary resources to this page as well. There is a reading, writing and maths task for each day. Each one should take about 30 minutes. We have also added a weekly task for our topic which this term is Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.
Hi parents and carers.
We just wanted to put a quick message saying thank you for the bits of work you have sent in over the past few weeks. We are looking at it and are pleased to see what the children have been up to!
We would also like to say that we have put these tasks on here for each day but they do not have to be rigidly done each day. If you are really into a piece of writing then carry on with it the next day. The other tasks will still be on here to catch up with. if you find something tricky and need another go at it then do that. That is what we would do in class. Basically, do not feel like you have to complete every task on the day it says, each learner is different.
Hope you are all keeping well, and keep up the good work.
Year 5 staff.
Welcome parents and carers of Year 5,
We have linked several activities along with the materials on the home page. We suggest doing the Twinkl maths pack; the first two writing tasks; and the fiction and non-fiction revision mats all on this page.
Also try to read everyday with your child, and practise spellings and times-tables which also have activities on this page, and the home page.
Finally, if you want to do any of the extra tasks or take part in your own research for our Surviving Extremes topic, then that would be superb!
Thank you for your hard work, support and understanding in these times.
Thank you again,
Year 5 staff
