Our Topics
In Nursery we will have a new topic for each term. The topics are decided by taking the interests of the children and incorporating them into activities each week to provide rich learning opportunities. We will also focus on speaking and listening skills and there will be a range of activities to support your child in developing in these areas. There will be daily Mathematics and Phonics sessions.
Autumn Term - Adventures in Wonderland
Spring Term - To Infinity and Beyond.
Summer Term - Finding Neverland
Important information
Wednesday – Baking – we will be baking, preparing food or cooking each week. We will work with a group of children each week and every child will be encouraged to taste the food that is made, either in the setting or at home. Please ensure that we are aware of any food allergies that your child may have.
Library Bags – all children have a plastic ‘School Book Bag’, which we encourage to be used to keep school library books in. The books will be kept inside Nursery. If your child borrows a book, please write their name and book title in the green book provided, next to the boxes and tick once they are returned.
Spare Clothing – we would like to ask that your child brings a clearly names bag, containing a full change of clothes to Nursery. This can be kept on their peg, during their Nursery session. We do have some clothes in the Nursery but children are always happier to be changed into their own clothes should they get dirty or wet during their play. If your child borrows clothes from Nursery, please return them in a clean and wearable condition.
Jewellery – for health and safety reasons jewellery is not to be worn in school, including nursery, with the exception of a pair of small stud earrings.
Water Bottles – Please send your child to school, each day, with a freshly filled water bottle. We ask that the bottle is clearly named and only contains water.
Named Clothing – Please ensure that all items of your child’s clothing and footwear are clearly named. This makes it much easier for missing clothing to be reunited with its rightful owner.
