Uniform Information

SCHOOL UNIFORM

 

Uniform is compulsory for all children from Reception to Year 6. As uniform is compulsory, breaches in school uniform rules, including PE kit, will be subject to sanctions. This is in line with DfE guidance, 2013, which states “Teachers can discipline pupils for breaching the school’s rules on appearance or uniform”.

 

FOOTWEAR

Sensible, flat-heeled, all black shoes or trainers – no high heels.

Sandals that are predominantly one colour - red, white, brown or black are acceptable in the summer.

 

BOYS

Grey or black shorts or trousers, white shirt or red or white polo shirt and red sweatshirt, pullover, fleece or cardigan - NO HOODIES

 

GIRLS

Grey or black skirts, pinafores, shorts or trousers, white shirt or red or white polo shirt and red sweatshirt, pullover, fleece or cardigan -  NO HOODIES

Optional - Red and white gingham summer dress

 

Uniform with the school logo, are available to purchase from our supplier:  Vortex Clothing Ltd, Unit2/3 Grange Lane Industrial Estate, Carwood Road, Barnsley S71 5AS Telephone 01226 202329. 

 

Alternatively Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, etc, stock uniform without the school logo.  We also have some recycled uniform available in school, please see the office staff.

 

For PE, could you please send a PE bag with a plain white t-shirt and plain black shorts. No football strips. Suitable footwear is essential – trainers for outside and bare feet for indoors. In the winter months, black jogging bottoms and fleece tops may also be worn for outdoor PE.

 

No makeup or nail varnish please and all clothes must be marked clearly with your child’s name

 

JEWELLERY

As part of the school’s dress code, the wearing of jewellery is restricted to a wristwatch and small ear studs for both safety and security reasons.

 

ALL JEWELLERY INCLUDING EARRINGS MUST BE REMOVED FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION.

 

Children will be unable to take part in PE lessons whilst wearing jewellery, and they will therefore not be fulfilling the legal requirements of the National Curriculum.

 

Children in the nursery should be sensibly dressed in easy to manage clothes.
