The Governors of Wilthorpe Primary School are elected as a legal requirement in order for the school to be effective and successful.
The Governing Body is Co-Chaired by Karen Triantafyllou and Claire Baines

Circle Model Of Governance
Wilthorpe Primary School Governing Body operates a circle model of governance where the governing body works as a 'whole team' without any committees, and meets every half term, or more if required. This means that governors have up to date information regarding the school, and can offer timely support and challenge, as well as take action should the need arise.
The Strategic Assessment and Monitoring (SAM) group convenes every half term and is open to all governors. This group considers pupil progress and attainment in greater depth, and throughout the year senior leaders may be asked to give presentations on particular subjects or priorities.
The governing body may commission assignments or projects arising from the business of any particular meeting which will be recorded in the minutes. The governing body will also at times delegate monitoring activities to either individual or pairs of members. This delegation could relate to statutory functions or to priorities identified in the School Development Plan (SDP). Any delegated decisions will be reported back to the Full Governing Body (FGB).
Link governors are assigned to monitor subjects which have been identified as strategic priorities in the School Development Plan (SDP), as well as: Safeguarding, SEND and Health & Safety, and Finance.
There is an established Pay Panel, and provision is also made for governors to form committees to deal with Pupil Discipline and Exclusion Staff Dismissal; Barring of a Parent from the School Premises; Applications for Special Leave; Complaints; Grievances; Pay Appeals; and the Headteacher's Performance Review.
